Counterfeit Luxury Jewelry Destroyed

When it comes to counterfeit luxury goods, many people think of clothing or accessories such as bags and sunglasses. But even high-quality jewelry is not immune to criminal activity, as a recent example shows. In the spring, customs seized luxury jewelry worth almost six million euros at Leipzig Airport. The air freight shipment from Hong Kong, addressed to a private consignee in the UK, contained around 500 bangles and bracelets as well as 650 rings. The jewelry featured the logos or brand names of two well-known manufacturers. According to the authorities, the goods unequivocally infringe property rights and are now being destroyed in a simplified process at the request of the trademark owners.

To ensure greater security, companies can opt for reliable security features and thus protect themselves efficiently against product piracy.
